Hi... I'm Calli, and it's quiet in here. Except for all the characters pitching a fit in my head.
My project for the month is an edit of a story - actually, I think it now qualifies as a novella at about 41 thousand words - that I wrote this fall, called Silver in Eillen. I spent a few happy hours curled up in my window wikipediaing the stuffing out of Renaissance Italy in order to prepare myself for it, and now I'm finally going through, editing, and posting. I fully intend to have the full thing up here by the end of the month, all thirty chapters of it.
If that number doesn't scare you, you're in tremendous amounts of luck, because I plan on posting a few other things I've written as well. And pictures, when I finally hunt down my mouse and finish the ones that I started a while back, but honestly I'm better at writing than drawing. I can get that 1,000 words out much more easily than the picture, though I hesitate to think that Silver in Eillen could be reduced to 41 pictures. Maybe that's 41 pages of a comic. Anyone who wants to draw it is welcome, because my drawing needs some definite improvement before I go anywhere near a project that size.
If Renaissance Italy isn't your cup of tea, I promise there will be something up eventually that isn't set in it. However, if fantasy isn't your cup of tea, then you might want to pack up and go home. I do write sci-fi and mystery, just not as profusely. I've tried just about everything and decided to stick with what I'm good at, namely making worlds that you can drown in and sticking fantastic adventures in them. Or simply writing constantly.
Huh. Since it's my first time here, I should say something about myself, but aside from the writing and occasional drawing, I'm kind of boring. I'm a college student. We eat, sleep, study and slack off, and that's about it.
I'll sign off now.
